Wrapping up Season One of the Laboratory
Hello!
Thank you so much for seeing me through the inaugural season of The Laboratory! This podcast has been a wonderful opportunity to talk about all things writing.
It’s also been a lot of fun to produce, and I like to think I’ve learned a thing or two about that along the way. I have lots of ideas for the future of The Laboratory, and I’m excited to share them when we return for the second season in September.
I’ll be tinkering with the format of the podcast and other aspects of my online presence over the hiatus. During that time, I encourage you to reach out to me at marykehoe@elixireditorial.ca if there’s a topic you’d like me to delve into or if there’s one you’d like to talk about as a guest. 😉
I’d love to explore any topics that fall into these areas:
forging a career in writing and the broader publishing industry; finding your community; creating and maintaining a successful writing practice; caring for yourself as a writer
how to develop ideas, characters and settings; the structure, organization and pacing of stories
style and voice; how to evoke emotions and ensure the words on the page serve your message and meaning
the spoken and unspoken rules of writing; the knowledge you need to arm yourself with as a writer
In the meantime, may the muses keep your fountain of creativity ever-flowing.
See you in September!
